A wedding band is a band made of expensive metal, wear on the ring finger to symbolize marriage. A wedding band is a symbol of the loyalty of the spouse. It is generally put on the left ring finger. It was a Greek faith that the vein in the left ring finger connects directly to the heart. Vena Amori is the name given to this vein. However contemporary medical science has confirmed the belief untrue. The tradition of wearing a band comes from European but is now widely taken across the world. Though in Eastern Europe and Western European countries like Netherlands, Spain, and Germany people wear it on the right hand ring finger.

Some people wear them in the neck as a pendant in a chain. Conventionally these are worn closer to the foot of the ring finger and then the engagement band is worn. Usually on the engagement band the spouse’s name is imprinted after marriage ceremony and then the engagement band becomes their wedding band. In traditional wedding ceremony it is the responsibility of the best man to look after them and bring into being them at the time of the ring ceremony. Often the ring bearer clutches the wedding bands on unique cushions or pillows.

The ring signifies the couple’s affection for each other. Making proposal to a person wearing a ring is not considered good in society. The wedding ornaments or ring of male and females are little bit dissimilar in design. The bands of guy are usually wider than the bands of gals. The customary width of the bands varies from 2 mm to 10 mm. Usually more women wear wedding bands than men. Some natives due to their profession like police men, electricians, soldiers, actors etc do not normally wear them.

There are a number of designs of it that are present in the Marketplace. By and large they are prepared of prized metals like titanium, gold (white gold & yellow gold), tungsten carbide, platinum, gun metal, silver, nickel etc. Venomous or corroding metals like aluminum, iron and brass are by no means used. Still as per mores wedding bands can be finished off any material. The designs offered are milgrain bands, vaulted, flat, two tone, fancy, diamond, designer, antique designs, knife edge, brushed center, plain flat, engraved, Celtic, Irish etc.

They are offered in striking designs and are studded with gems, with dazzling polish etc. The jewels are available in many shapes like round, emerald, marquise, heart, multi cut, trillion, princess, pear, oval etc. In France and French language nation normally the wedding bands are made of three interwoven rings. They correspond to love, trust and optimism. The prices of such bands vary from $100 to millions of dollars based upon the brand of band and the gem.

My husband bought me a GORGEOUS wedding band with little diamonds on it. Its sparkle but subtle. Im not really big on gaudy things and when you put my engagement ring and band together on my finger (I have little fingers lol) it looks to gaudy. The wedding band ia just beautiful alone on my finger. Is it weird to just wear the wedding band?

My bf and I plan to get married in the near future but he has told me that he wants us both to have engagement rings and that specifically he wanted one that would go with/connect to his wedding band. Do jewelers even make rings like this for men?

Okay my husband and I have been together for four years and married for 10 months (our 1st year of being married will be in December). We never got engaged, we didn’t have a wedding, we just did the justice of the piece thing. We didn’t have a big wedding because I wanted my mom to be there when I walked down the isle. She was incarcerated and won’t be home until this December. Also he was in tech school so we didn’t have time to plan anything. Plus at the time I was prego with our daughter.(That’s a lot of stuff) As I said we never got engaged we just went right into marriage, which isn’t bad at all. He did give me a promise ring when we were 16, (I’m 20 now and he is 21) so being engaged really didn’t matter to me. My thing is this, since we didn’t well don’t have wedding band I’m about ready to buy one. We were always trying to get them, except my hubby is holding us back. Which is a problem. He wants to but a set that cost like a thousand or more, and I just want a simple band. Every time we get close to buying one he always bring up "the finer things" in life. Which it’s that stupid high priced ring. He won’t listen when I tell him that the simple gold or silver wedding band will work for me. I’m not a materialistic person, I actually will go through our marriage with no wedding band and just get a tattoo of it or something. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I get it to stick in his head that simple is so much better than high priced crud? It’s love that makes the marriage, not the stupid ring. Why dont men listen ugh???!!!

I have a halo engagement ring but it is raised to fit the wedding band underneath. Although, it is still very, very slightly curved. With a striaght ring is has a small space in between the engagement ring and wedding band. Do you think it would look terrible, or is it not that big of a deal?

My fiancĂ© and I are starting to look at wedding bands. I’m unsure of what type of band I should get that would fit together with my ring. If anyone has this type of ring and can give some ideas, that would be great. Thanks.
